Volunteer to be a community housing board member

The Region of Durham is the service manager for 33 community housing providers across Durham region. To maintain compliance with the Housing Services Act, 2011 and its regulations, when needed, the Region appoints external board members to support operations, oversight, accountability and strategic direction for a community housing provider.

To ensure board members can be appointed as quickly as possible when needed, the Region is establishing a list of volunteers who would be available to serve as external board members. The Region is seeking individuals who can demonstrate collaboration, communication, leadership and strategic planning skills, and who have expertise in finance, legal and/or housing operations.
